To the east of Seki is the Kanto area, and to the west is the Kansai. Seki City, the dividing point between the Kanto and Kansai areas, is renowned as a world-famous cutlery production center. During the Kamakura Period, the swordsmiths who moved into Seki from Yamato passed on many legends by forging swords.
